New branding for Resilient Construction

Overview:

Brian Litt, the owner of Resilient Construction, a New Orleans-based construction firm, approached us to create a brand that would encapsulate his focus on resiliency and intentional building. As a long-time friend and member of the New Orleans frisbee community, Brian's vision for his company was deeply personal, starting with the construction of his own home as a model for his approach. The Art & Science of Intentional Building, which Brian champions, goes beyond conventional green practices by choosing the right site, materials, and methods that are biologically and ecologically friendly, ensuring the creation of a healthy and supportive environment.

Brand Development:

Understanding the importance of conveying the principles of intentional building, I wanted the branding for Resilient Construction to reflect both the ethos of the company and the unique geography of New Orleans. The ibis, a bird synonymous with resilience and preparedness, became the central symbol of the brand. Known for being the last sign of wildlife to seek shelter before a hurricane and the first to reappear afterward, the ibis perfectly represented the core values of Resilient Construction—resilience, preparedness, and adaptability.

Incorporating the ibis into the logo and branding allowed us to create a visual identity that resonates with the local community while also conveying the company’s commitment to building sustainable and climate change-resistant homes. The brand was designed to reflect the integrity, quality, and consciousness that Resilient Construction brings to every project, ensuring that each build is not just environmentally friendly, but also holistically supportive of the people who live in it.
