Overview:

Garden Gaze, a small but passionate team of gardening professionals based in New Orleans, approached me to create a brand and website that would elevate their business and attract a more diverse clientele. Co-owners Jake and Gabe are deeply committed to building meaningful relationships with their clients, fostering community ties, and embracing thoughtful, ecologically conscious design. With a shared passion for vibrant, wild, and luscious gardens, we set out to create a brand that reflected their unique approach and personality.

Brand Development:

During our initial design discussions, Jake and Gabe emphasized their love for “wild & luscious” gardens that are loud, colorful, and uniquely New Orleans. They wanted their brand to capture the joyful, enthusiastic, and slightly campy nature of their work, with a heavy emphasis on pinks, oranges, and vibrant technicolor hues. The imagery we developed was inspired by the lush, verdant landscapes they create, with an emphasis on playful and colorful elements like hibiscus, angel flowers, and nasturtiums.

A key element of the branding was the concept of a Garden Gaze double entendre, reflecting the playful and inclusive spirit of the business. We incorporated elements that felt a bit “hammy” and campy, while still maintaining an air of professionalism that would appeal to high-end clients in areas like the French Quarter. The final logo design featured a fun, cursive font paired with pretty orange flowers, perfectly capturing the brand’s vibrant and joyful aesthetic.

Website Creation:

With the branding in place, we moved on to developing a website that would serve as both a portfolio and a practical tool for client engagement. The website was designed to be easy to navigate, with sections for the homepage, gallery, and contact information. We also integrated client onboarding into the site, streamlining the process for new clients to connect with Garden Gaze.

The website’s design was closely aligned with the brand’s aesthetic, featuring colorful, lush imagery and a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for potential clients to explore Garden Gaze’s offerings and get in touch. The site was also optimized for search engines and includes a domain name and Google Suite integration to support the business’s growth.

You can visit the Garden Gaze website here.

Impact:

The branding and website have provided Garden Gaze with a strong foundation for expanding their reach and connecting with clients who share their love of vibrant, creative garden design. The cohesive visual identity and online presence reflect the team’s dedication to their craft and their commitment to building beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces.
