Celebrating Milestones and Expanding Horizons for Burns Industrial Equipment
Overview:
While I often collaborate with small New Orleans-based businesses, working with Burns Industrial Equipment was a special project close to my heart. Burns, a longstanding and respected company, first approached me to create a logo celebrating their 50th anniversary. This project evolved into a larger branding effort when they expanded their offerings to include low-speed electric vehicles (EVs) from WAEV, a California-based company.
50th Anniversary Logo:
Creating the 50th anniversary logo was a collaborative process that involved multiple decision-makers within Burns. Over several months, we worked through many revisions to ensure the final design would honor the company’s legacy and resonate with its stakeholders. The result was a logo that beautifully encapsulates Burns' long history and commitment to quality, providing a memorable symbol for this significant milestone.
Burns-GEM Branding and Logo Development:
As Burns expanded into the EV market, they faced the challenge of naming and branding this new venture. GEM is part of the Waev Inc. portfolio of electric vehicle brands and mandated that the Burns-GEM subsidiary logo needed to incorporate the existing GEM branding, which posed a unique challenge. Burns turned to Outside In for assistance in defining their brand identity for this innovative product line. Through extensive research and brainstorming sessions, we explored various naming options and brand concepts. I presented multiple logo designs for each name, and after careful consideration, Burns chose a name and logo that best captured their vision for the new venture.
The chosen logo and brand name effectively represented the cutting-edge technology of the EVs while maintaining the trusted reputation of Burns Industrial Equipment. The branding seamlessly integrated with the company’s established identity, helping to position Burns-GEM as a forward-thinking and reliable choice in the market.
